Classic Meets Modern: The Prowler Story
This is my latest illustration, Prowler.
The Plymouth Prowler was a model under Chrysler's Plymouth brand and was the last model released by Plymouth, starting in 1997. From 2000, it was rebranded under Chrysler and was produced until 2002, with a total of 11,702 units sold worldwide. Designed in the style of 1930s hot rods, this rear-wheel-drive roadster was based on a modified version of a concept car by automobile designer Chip Foose.
When I saw the design of the Plymouth Prowler, it reminded me of the suits worn by British aristocrats—specifically, the silhouette of the fox hunting attire that has been passed down for over 300 years since the time of King Charles II in the 17th century. My initial color choice for the Prowler in my illustration was red, but since it overlapped with the traditional suit colors, I changed it to yellow instead.
The two men standing side by side in a bromance-like pose symbolize a contrast between modernity and classicism.
클래식과 현대의 만남: 프라울러 이야기
최근에 작업한 일러스트레이션 Prowler입니다. 폴리머스 프라울러는 크라이슬러의 산하 브랜드 모델로, 1997년부터 폴리머스의 마지막 모델입니다. 2000년부터는 크라이슬러의 브랜드로 2002년까지 생산된 모델로 전세계적으로 11702대가 판매가 되었다고 합니다. 1930년대의 핫로드 스타일로 디자인된 후륜구동 로드스터모델로 자동차디자이너 '칩푸스'의 컨셉카를 일부 변형해서 만들었습니다. 제가 이 폴리머스의 디자인을 보고 떠올린것은 영국의 귀족들의 슈트였습니다. 그중에서도 300년이나 내려온 폭스헌트(17세기 찰스2세때부터 내려오던)의 승마복의 실루엣입니다. 제가 그렸던 프라울러의 초기 칼라는 붉은색이었는데 슈트의 색과 겹쳐서 옐로우로 바꿨습니다. 마치 브로맨스 스타일로 서있는 두 남성은 모던함과 클래식함을 비교하는 모습을 상징한 채 서 있습니다.
